Error 1: SQL Syntax Error Explained
Occasionally, we hear from Virtual TimeClock users who have upgraded and then downgraded their software and receive an error 1 message on the time clock. This article will explain how to quickly resolve the error and get your time clock up and running again.
Error 1 Messages
You may receive any of the following descriptions with the error 1 message:
- Failed to load the registered client list. Select * from Users
- SQL syntax error or missing database
- No such table: Users
- Failed to load client list database is nil
- Select Client ID: Client cannot connect
The most common reason for receiving an error 1 is because you uninstalled a newer version of Virtual TimeClock and then installed an older version on the same computer. When this happens, you will need to delete a specific settings file before you can complete the reinstallation process. Follow the steps in our Failed to Insert Clients article to delete the User Settings file and reset your client list database.
